What would be going through my mind?

Journal Blog - I am to pretend to have found myself standing on a bridge, looking down into the swift moving water below. My hands are tied behind my back, with wrists bound with a cord, and a rope gripped tight around my neck. What would be going through my mind?

As I impatiently wait for my thoughts to reach its final decision, I'd repetitively focus my mind searching for the memories and dreams that would usually make my strive for that envied future that kept me going for so long. I'd peer off over the edge in silent serenity, the motion of the water reminding myself of all the intentions I long sought to complete despite the real world lecturing me of my very existence. A life endured by constant questioning and empty answers finally reaching its closure. A lifetime of thoughts which ultimately drives a young man into utter madness itself. Always, I held on to that one dream despite all odds; that simple dream of living. A dream of creation and inspiration. Yes, I dreamed to simply create worlds that inspire my own world. After all, the greatest of artists paint their world from the sincerity of their own bleeding heart.

What is my goal in life?

Individuals usually intend to set specific goals in their life in order to guide themselves steadily into the future they desire, whether it is luxurious or simply quiet and peaceful. Many expect more than others, yet doesn't want to work as hard to obtain it. My future intentions are not to be rich and to live in a luxurious home, but rather to live peacefully in solitude and to simply inspire the world around me who seek interest in art and philosophy. If you think about it, the perfect home is merely a state of mind in which you make the best of your own way of thinking and not taking your relationships and your everyday modern conveniences for granted. Explore who you are and realize your talents, a pleasant future is destined to be discovered.

What are some modern conveniences we take for granted?

There are many conveniences we take for granted in the modern world. People often don't even realize how convenient most of our household appliances, vehicles, and means of communication and entertainment are in our everyday lives. These materials exist to make modern life less stressful in some way, and only without these materials we can acknowledge how convenient they really are. Be thankful for what you have, because one day you may not have it.

Can One Be Too Determined?

Determination usually increases one's chances of succeeding their goal. Persistence expresses the significance of completing a task, and not letting anything get in the way of it. However, what happens when someone becomes too determined? Too much persistence can exhaust your mind as well as your body over a period of time, causing a failure to recover your body and collect your thoughts. This will cause you to eventually be too overworked and prevent you from completing the task you endured to achieve.

What do you you think is the most important quality of Gothic literature.

There are usually two qualities gothic literature; One is set to shock and frighten the reader while the other is constructed with the ability to create suspense and mysteries into the literature. I believe gothic literature should be more focused on suspense and mysteries rather than simply scaring the readers, because suspense grasps the reader's attention throughout the story. Although, if a gothic literature presents the goal to frighten people, in such ways as Edgar Alan Poe illustrates for his readers, then I believe it could also teach one's self about how they should understand fear. Both qualities performed in one piece of literature is the best by my opinion.

Does Darkness Exist in Everyone?

Many question whether darkness dwells within everyone. I believe darkness exists in everyone at one or more points of their life. Events in one's life could cause darkness to dwell deep within them. Many people are content to conceal their darkness, while others allow darkness to consume their lives.

Dreamlike Settings

Dreamlike settings are powerful in literature and film. These settings allows the audiences' minds to wonder and creates a very unique and creative mood to the story. Viewers often crave more flavor in their choices for entertainment. Creativity allows directors and authors to explore new limitations and new ideas based on targeting people's imagination. Dreamlike settings take their audience to a new world with new ideas rather than retaining to the same everyday traditional settings. Also, these settings inspire people to be creative and step out of the box when exploring new means of entertainment.

In the link above, the movie "Avatar" expresses fantasy while also keeping the action and suspense that people want to see. This movie takes viewers into their world to tells their story, and makes the story believable to the audience.

Secrets

Secrets are being told every day. Secrets are important concealed information that one or more people have that are believed to not be told/shown publicly. If someone has been told to keep a secret, then that person has been chosen to be trustworthy of that secret. Secrets bond people's relationship together and means that someone can trust you with something that could be personal to them or someone else. Secrets are also very often thoughts and feelings someone has kept to themselves. Secrets that have been kept for too long could cause you to forget something important that you were trusted to remember, or you could regret yourself for never admitting your secret.

Greedy Behavior

Over the course of the past recent years I have sat back and observed the behavior people use to express themselves towards others. I noticed quite a majority of people who express common displays of avarice and insecurity. Commonly shown by teens and children; they tend to become easily discouraged when they cannot have whatever it is they want, and chooses to act out or demand approval of getting what they want. The reason for this display of greedy behavior could be explained by lack of discipline, or could be caused by domestic abuse or mental disorders.

Why do we fear what we do not know?

I believe people fear what don't know because they are afraid to step out of their comfort zone to oppose an unfamiliar task. The unknown obstacles people face tends to deter those that are least courageous and prepared for the obscure tasks ahead of them.

 An example of this would be the relationship between home owners and a snake catching service; The home owners contact the snake catchers to remove pest snakes from their property in order to make their home a safer environment. The snake catchers have dedicated much practice in handling and studying the identification of different snake species, therefore, are most trusted with handling the situation. Home owners are unprepared and too careless to attempt this unfamiliar task by themselves.

What do I Value Most

I value the freedom of creativity and the ability to accept people the way they are. You can understand a lot about an individual by the way he/she thinks, things that he/she draws, and even the music that inspires that person. Everything that makes a single person feel comfortable expresses their individuality one way or an other.

Persuasive techniques

Corporations and product developers use three different persuasive techniques to appeal to consumers  and to persuade them to buy or support something. One is appealing to entertainment, therefore, it makes people feel good about the product they are buying. The second is more informative, which is a technique used to list facts on why the product is necessary and that you should buy it. The last technique uses any other ideas that would make as many people to buy their product instead of other leading brands, even if it meant criticizing other corporations to do so.

Opinion: Best Persuasive Technique

There are many techniques to persuading different audiences to buy/support a product or corporation. I would say that interests that most persuade me are ones that often pay me back in some way, such as                                  investments for example.

Inspiring Speech

I was once told an inspiring speech by an elderly family relative at a family reunion. I never knew the man before nor cared much about asking for his name at that time. The man stood up before everyone to announce his family's honors and values despite the struggles and hardships that made their way. He tells of how he has watched his grandchildren grow and why family is essential in our lives.

In the article, History.com Articles of the Pilgrims, Will Bradford tells claims of early pilgrim myths and discusses their origins. The author uses historical records and images to assist with his statements about the topic. The author's purpose for writing was to educate the younger generation on interesting historical facts and illustrations that once inspired the early colonial America. Will Bradford's work was significant to the audience because it extends the knowledge of what people already know about the pilgrims and their myths.

Essential Question 1

The details I would expect to find in a story about nature would include the concerns for the environment based on information the author has accumulated on the subject. These details may not only include the concern for natural living conditions or the study of surrounding lands such as mountains, plains, and valleys. Also, nature influenced much of Native American spiritual beliefs, which gave Native Americans great respect for animals found throughout North America.

Early American Speeches:

1.) Early Americans wanted freedom from British rule, so leaders of America pulled together To establish a reasonable and sustainable government which could strive in democracy despite all odds that opposed it.
2.) It was an inspirational form in order to motivate early Americans to agree with the speakers.
3.) We have a good understanding of how the performances took place because of many historical records dating back to colonial times before the Revolutionary War. We could also compare their past performances with political speakers of today.
4.) The language of early American citizens resembled the British and old English language because of early settlers from Great Britain moved to North America.
